Below is a little story about Tink.
Tink is a dog who came to Naws in 2023 as an 8 week only puppy. She was neurologic, and sick. Fast forward, she grew up to be a happy healthy girl despite her incontinence. She was adopted by her foster family. Recently, Tink had to be returned to Naws at no fault of her own. She has been spending tine in one of our amazing foster homes, who is only able to keep her until this Tuesday 3/17.
Our hearts are completely broken for Tink. She is shut down at Naws, and does the best in the home setting. Her current foster mom says her needs aren’t so bad now that she’s gotten the hang of it. She wears diapers - but gets around great, plays, etc. like any normal dog. Naws provides all supplies needed to care for Tink.
Tink has lived with other dogs and cats, but does require slow introductions to other dogs. She does well with children. With time, patience and love, this girl could fit into any home.

This four-year-old ball of fun is a staffordshire terrier mix. He is eager to please and knows his basic commands, for treats of course! Yoda likes to keep his house nice and tidy and enjoys exploring outdoors. He is brave and curious, investigating unfamiliar sounds and obstacles he might find on walks. This guy has great energy and is ready to play! Yoda really shines during agility training! He loves kids with all his heart and would love a fun family to play with; but given his high energy and strength, older children above 12 would be best. Yoda is ready to be your adventure buddy :)

This sweet girl has been through SO much in her 5 years of life - she was hit by a car in Texas, and her pelvis and hip were severely fractured and left her with nerve damage. Because of this accident, she's somewhat incontinent. With routine and a devoted foster home, she's done so well these last two years and just needs a special family to take a chance on her. Divina will thank you with endless love, kisses, snuggles, and a walking companion. The amount of time our sweet, loving and deserving Kirby has been waiting for his forever family to come. Why he's been waiting so long? We couldn't tell you. It confuses us just as much as it breaks our hearts.
This adorable boy is a 2 year old house hippo (Pittie) mix. Kirby is a certified kissing machine, ladies man, and GOOD boy. Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet our sweet Kirby knows he can't help but cover you in kisses. Some of his favorite activities are going on walks, basking in the sun, and playing with his toys. He is an active, curious and incredibly loving boy. Kirby can be a bit timid, but after a treat or two, he is covering you in kisses. He does well with children and loves everyone he meets. We say he is a ladies man, because he prefers female dogs who are close to his size. Kirby would prefer a home with no kitties. Divva is feeling incredibly stressed in the shelter and ‼️URGENTLY‼️ needs a foster, adopter, or even just a few days away from the stressful shelter environment. She may be shy at first, but give her a little space and time (and cheese😉) and you’ll quickly discover a she is a sweet, cuddly girl with so much love to give.

Divva does well on pack walks with other dogs at the shelter. However, she can be reactive when faced with barriers like fences, potentially barking at dogs she sees on the other side. Fortunately, CARE’s training team is ready to provide any necessary training support to her future foster or adopter.
All Divva needs is someone to give her a little time and space to feel safe and comfortable. If you can offer that, please come meet this sweet girl. She is waiting for you.

Little Debbie – Returned, Heartbroken, and Waiting 💔🐾
This is Little Debbie—and her story is one of those that just sticks with you.
Debbie had a home. A loving home. Her people adored her. She slept in a cozy bed, went outside when she wanted, lounged in the sun, and knew what it meant to be cherished. But there were cats. And Little Debbie doesn’t like cats. As hard as her family tried, it just wasn’t going to work. So, with broken hearts, they brought her back.
Now she’s back in a kennel. And she’s not okay.
She cries. She pancakes to the ground when it’s time to go back into her run. She doesn’t understand why she’s here again. If you’ve seen the videos, you can see it in her body—she’s shutting down.
Debbie is about 4 years old, 57 pounds, and she’s listed as selective with other dogs. Honestly? We’d love to see her as the only pet in the home. She needs time to decompress. To breathe. To feel safe again. To heal.
She did so well in a home. She was loved. She was perfect—just not with cats. That’s all. That’s the only reason she’s back.
And now… she’s struggling.
Please, if you can give Little Debbie a quiet home where she can feel safe and loved again—she will give you her whole heart.

Huck is the kind of dog who brings peace just by being near. He doesn’t demand the spotlight, but he deserves it.
Huck came to us after being let down by the humans who were supposed to care for him. It wasn’t his fault - it never is for animals like him. But now he’s waiting, patiently, for someone to notice him. He’s good with other dogs, gentle on a leash, and just wants to be part of a family again. A real one. A forever one.
So many sweet souls like Huck are quietly overlooked in rescue - not flashy, not loud, just kind and good through and through. But they’re the ones who often love the hardest and stay the most loyal. Huck is ready to pour all his love into someone who will see his worth and cherish it.

Meet Gonzo a handsome estimated 3 yr old shepherd mix that was found as a stray in the 28138 area! It’s hard to believe no Owner has come forward. This handsome boy is now available for adoption. He is a sweet boy and loves to play and run.
He will make someone an amazing pet. He is heartworm negative and he is 64 lbs
His fee is $85 and that includes his shots, microchip and a voucher to have him neutered

Thank god for our yard volunteers and dog walkers who help our dogs to keep their sanity. But- sometimes it’s not enough when the shelter becones full and extra stressful. Our dogs start breaking down.
