Monty would like to share the exciting news that he has been officially promoted to the NAWS Branch Manager! 🏆 This Title comes with the GREAT responsibility, and we have full faith in Monty. Monty’s day to day tasks include but are not limited to the following:
✅ Seek out and collect every branch on the NAWS property.
✅Ensure all branches are functioning properly.
✅ Steal the hearts of every staff member & volunteers by gifting them a branch.
✅Attend every adoption event until he finds a forever home.
✅Continue to be the BEST boy ever.
All jokes aside, our Monty is the absolute bestest pup around. Monty is a 2 year old Pittie mix. He is very well loved at NAWS, but needs a family of his own. Monty is full of personality, he keeps us laughing and on our toes with his branch collecting antics. His favorite activity is going on walks and spending time with his people. He also enjoys agility from time to time! Monty does well with everyone, loves people and children. He tolerates being around other dogs - and would need a slow introduction to any other pups in the home as he can be particular. Monty does mind kitties. Currently Dusse is at Chicago Animal control.
Dusse A288228 Another extremely urgent dog! We need help with this one and she needs a home this week! Dusse was brought to Chicago Animal Control the end of January by her owner, they brought her to a high kill shelter because they couldn’t keep her.😞She was extremely heart broken and was searching and crying when left at the shelter. She really needs a home to get out alive. Please share so she can find one person to come in and save her. She is extremely sweet, 4 years old, loves to be close , likes other dogs and would be ever so grateful to the person who saves her! Please let’s get Dusse into a home before we lose another sweet, loving dog!
Tink
Tink is available to foster or adopt through NAWS.
Below is a little story about Tink.
Tink is a dog who came to Naws in 2023 as an 8 week only puppy. She was neurologic, and sick. Fast forward, she grew up to be a happy healthy girl despite her incontinence. She was adopted by her foster family. Recently, Tink had to be returned to Naws at no fault of her own. She has been spending tine in one of our amazing foster homes, who is only able to keep her until this Tuesday 3/17.
Our hearts are completely broken for Tink. She is shut down at Naws, and does the best in the home setting. Her current foster mom says her needs aren’t so bad now that she’s gotten the hang of it. She wears diapers - but gets around great, plays, etc. like any normal dog. Naws provides all supplies needed to care for Tink.
Tink has lived with other dogs and cats, but does require slow introductions to other dogs. She does well with children. With time, patience and love, this girl could fit into any home.

Divina
Davina is currently up for adoption at Fetching Tails Foundation.
Divina has been with us for two years. This sweet girl has been through SO much in her 5 years of life - she was hit by a car in Texas, and her pelvis and hip were severely fractured and left her with nerve damage. Because of this accident, she's somewhat incontinent. With routine and a devoted foster home, she's done so well these last two years and just needs a special family to take a chance on her. Divina will thank you with endless love, kisses, snuggles, and a walking companion. She is great with other dogs and everyone she meets... she just needs that special someone to say yes and give her a chance.

Gentry has come such a long way since he was pulled from the shelter and he is doing great! He is back to a healthy weight and his coat is beginning to shine. His foster says his nickname is Mr. WiggleButt and his head is so big you're not sure if he'll topple over.

Roscoe
This D o double G is available Through Traveling Tails Dog Rescue
Roscoe was found by our partner Bahrain Animal Rescue Center in Bahrain with a surgical amputation. We have no idea what happened. He was living with small kids and other dogs at one point and he’s a super sweet boy. Roscoe can be flown to the US once we have a foster or adopter secured. He’s living in the shelter now and does great with other dogs of al sizes there.

Tito’s journey has been one of unimaginable heartbreak and incredible resilience. This sweet Lhasa mix came to Famous Fido Rescue after enduring severe trauma - rescued from a locked trunk. The experience left Tito with trust issues, and while he has made remarkable progress in learning to let people into his circle of trust, his heart still longs for a home where he can finally feel safe and loved.
Tito has been with us for several years, and while we cherish him deeply, we know he deserves a life beyond the rescue - a home filled with patience, understanding, and care. Tito is very anxious and would thrive best in an adult-only home without kids. However, he absolutely adores the company of other dogs and would make a fantastic companion for your furry friend.
We believe there’s someone out there with a heart big enough to match Tito’s. Someone patient, kind, and willing to take the time to show Tito the world isn’t as scary as he remembers.

Deal breakers? Not in our opinion. Ruffles is quite young and still needs some guidance. We have no doubt that, after some decompression, he will pass the class with flying colors.
